Dave Wibberley is a Director of Adroit Technologies, bringing extensive experience in industrial automation, SCADA technologies and business leadership. He served as Managing Director for more than 25 years, helping grow the company’s industrial software business and its international customer and partner network.

During his tenure as Managing Director, Dave helped guide Adroit Technologies through significant stages of its development. He was part of the management team that completed the 2002 management buyout, securing the business’s return to independent ownership. His leadership combined commercial development with a focus on locally developed technology, customer relationships and the continued expansion of Adroit Software into international markets.
Dave has played a key role in the company’s relationship with Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation and the commercial development of the Mitsubishi Adroit Process Suite (MAPS). The partnership led to Mitsubishi Electric Europe acquiring a minority shareholding in Adroit Technologies in 2011, followed by Adroit’s appointment as an authorised distributor of Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation products for Sub-Saharan Africa in 2012.
His technical interests include alarm management, industrial data acquisition, remote monitoring and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). He has authored industry papers and articles explaining how these technologies can improve operator decision-making, asset management and manufacturing performance. His published work emphasises defining business goals, selecting appropriate technology and measuring results so that industrial digitalisation delivers practical operational value.
Dave has also contributed to the wider automation industry through professional leadership and industry engagement. He was elected Chairman of the Industrial Instrumentation Group (IIG) of South Africa for 2014/2015 and was a finalist for Industry Personality of the Year at the 2015 Africa Automation Fair. During his tenure, Adroit Technologies won the 2015 MTN Business Mind2Machine Challenge Award for its REMOTEWORX diesel generator monitoring solution.
Dave holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and a GDE in Industrial Engineering. His engineering background supports his understanding of industrial processes, while his experience in technology commercialisation and company management connects technical capabilities with the needs of customers and business partners.
Following the management changes effective from August 2024, Dave remained on the board in an advisory capacity. In this role, he contributes strategic guidance and industry experience, supporting Adroit Technologies’ leadership team and the company’s continued development as an international industrial software and automation business.
