Frits joined Adroit Technologies as a Software Engineer in 2003 and became Chief Technology Officer in 2009, where he has played a central role in the development and evolution of the company’s software and automation technology. His experience includes the architecture and development of Adroit SCADA and SmartUI, multi-tier software systems, databases, networking, system security, scalability and large-scale industrial automation projects.
As CTO, Frits provides technical leadership across Adroit software development and technology roadmap, working closely with customers and technology partners to identify emerging technologies and translate them into practical industrial solutions. His expertise spans water, energy, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, mining, food and beverage and telecommunications.
Frits has also developed a strong international technology relationship with Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation. He has worked closely with Mitsubishi Electric on automation technology and is involved in the ongoing development of integrated solutions, including the Mitsubishi Adroit Process Suite (MAPS).
A key area of Frits’ expertise is industrial control cybersecurity. His work includes security analysis, secure software architecture and technologies designed to protect industrial automation environments. He is an accredited IEC 62443 fundamentals specialist and a member of the international ISA99 working groups responsible for the IEC 62443 Cyber Security standards for Operational Technology.
Frits holds a BSc in Information Technology, a B.Sc. (Honours) in Computer Science, and a Master’s Degree in Business Management. He is also an Adroit Certified Engineer and has been recognised for his contribution to the technology industry through published work, industry presentations and technical contributions on open-source software, IoT and automation cybersecurity.
In his role as Co-CEO and CTO, Frits combines deep technical expertise with business and strategic leadership, helping shape Adroit Technologies’ continued development as an international industrial automation and software company.
