Johan Nieuwenhuizen

Johan began his career on the engineering side of industrial automation, working in system integration, telemetry and SCADA, customer support and project management before joining Adroit Technologies in 2004. This technical foundation has remained central to his approach to business, enabling him to bridge the gap between complex automation technologies and the operational and commercial requirements of industrial customers.

During more than two decades with Adroit Technologies, Johan has played a key role in developing the company’s sales strategy, customer relationships, partner network and international business. As Sales Director, his responsibilities span strategic sales planning, new business development, key account management and the leadership of sales activities across the Adroit product suite and Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation portfolio.

Johan works closely with customers, OEMs, system integrators and technology partners to develop automation solutions that align technical capabilities with operational and business objectives. His combination of engineering knowledge and commercial experience enables him to engage with both technical and executive stakeholders and translate complex automation requirements into practical industrial solutions.

As Co-CEO, Johan contributes to the strategic direction and continued international growth of Adroit Technologies. His focus extends beyond traditional automation to the broader industrial digitalisation landscape, including the convergence of operational and information technology, IIoT, edge-to-cloud connectivity, industrial data analytics and OT cybersecurity. He has become an active industry voice on modernising industrial infrastructure while protecting existing technology investments and creating scalable foundations for future digitalisation.

Johan has also been closely involved in strengthening Adroit Technologies’ position as an international industrial automation partner. This includes the company’s work with global manufacturing organisations such as Iochpe-Maxion, where Adroit Technologies has been selected as a global SCADA partner supporting standardised industrial architecture across geographically distributed manufacturing operations.

His role also encompasses Adroit Technologies’ long-standing relationship with Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation. His technical and commercial experience supports the delivery of integrated factory automation solutions, while his responsibilities include the sales and marketing of Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation technologies alongside the Adroit product suite.

Johan is also closely associated with Adroit Technologies’ growing focus on data-driven industrial operations and the use of industrial data to improve efficiency, performance and decision-making. His recent industry commentary has addressed areas such as scalable digital industrialisation, edge computing, cloud analytics, operational intelligence and the increasing importance of cybersecurity within connected industrial environments.

Johan holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Management from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and an IT Engineering Diploma from the Computer Training Institute (CTI), awarded with distinction. His combination of business management education, technical engineering training and extensive practical experience provides a strong foundation for his dual role as Co-CEO and Sales Director.

Today, Johan combines executive leadership, commercial strategy and technical understanding with a focus on building long-term customer and technology partnerships, expanding the international presence of Adroit Technologies and helping industrial organisations realise greater operational and business value from automation and digital technologies.
